MICHEL L. ROY, B.A., M.A.
Founding Partner, TRIAX Intelligence and Business Development
Mr. Roy holds a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in economics and has more than forty years of experience in the energy, environmental, construction, and consulting sectors. He began his career in the Office of the Leader of the Official Opposition in Quebec as deputy chief of staff, then joined the federal Department of Energy as a policy analyst. He then embarked on a twenty-five-year career at Énergir (Gaz Métro), where he held positions with increasing levels of responsibility, particularly in development and pricing, and acted as an expert witness before the Régie de l’Énergie. During his last years at Énergir, he was regional director for eastern Quebec. He then worked for six years at a major engineering consulting firm, where he was senior vice president of energy and head of partnerships with First Nations, in addition to serving as vice president of marketing, communications, and strategic development.

Since 2014, he has worked as a consultant to help companies with strategic planning and business development. His expertise helps guide, structure, and implement companies’ business development plans, which can include the revision of all their marketing and communication tools. As part of his duties at TRIAX, he also monitors the Régie de l’Énergie’s activities, particularly the issue of RNG (renewable natural gas).

DAVE PÉPIN, M.B.A.

Mr. Pépin has participated in four startups. One of them, listed on the stock exchange with an initial capital of $500,000, saw its market capitalization reach a peak of $450 million. The company appeared on the TSX Venture 50 list of the highest-performing companies in 2015 and 2016.

For seventeen years, he has held several key positions in this natural resources company, including vice president of corporate affairs and chief financial officer. In this capacity, he was responsible for negotiating and executing many financing and joint venture transactions totalling more than $150 million.

The holder of an MBA, a master’s degree in the humanities, and a degree in print journalism, he has acquired a wide range of skills through his many years of experience that cover various facets of business management: strategic planning and business development, financing, contract negotiation, due diligence, government affairs, and public and media relations.

STÉPHANE GOSSELIN B.A.
Founding Partner, TRIAX Intelligence and Business Development
Mr. Gosselin served as chief of staff to a number of ministers in seven different ministries of the Government of Quebec for more than ten years. These experiences, particularly in natural resources, Indigenous affairs, the environment, and economic development, have given him an in-depth understanding of the workings of government, both at the administrative and political levels. He was also the executive director of the Quebec Oil and Gas Association, which led him to acquire extensive expertise in matters related to energy and natural resource development.

His firsthand experience and comprehensive view of various issues associated with government affairs make him an expert in analyzing complex cases. This allows him to offer advice on the planning and implementation of strategies for successful projects. With a bachelor’s degree in political science, he has built an impressive network of contacts over the course of his career.
